“I had never been I injured at work in my twenty seven year work history. When I was, I had no idea what to do. I was collecting workers comp checks, and often, they would be late, causing my wife and I to struggle. Finally, I Googled workers comp lawyers in Harrisburg, Pa. and simply contacted the first one that came up. I had hoped to just get help in having my checks come in a timely manner. Not only did that happen, but after a few short months (much shorter than I expected) I received a very nice settlement from my work places insurance company, even though I had gone back to work for another company! I went to the mediation settlement hearing expecting nothing, and walked away with the ability to be debt free! The moment you are placed on workers comp, contact Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C.! You won’t regret it.”

“After work related injury in 2009 and five surgeries later, insurance company had filed an utilization review against latest prognosis and recommended needed future surgery by attending physician. The treatment was confirmed by second opinion Dr. and also insurance scheduled IME physician. Ron had been referred to me by my treating physical therapist who felt I should consult him and let him deal with all the legal issues with work comp so I could get the treatment I needed and deserved. Best decision I had made concerning this whole situation. Immediately following consult he contacted claims adjuster to let them know that he was representing me and they could no longer contact and attend my Dr. appointments. Within the next month he called me and assured me that I could go ahead and schedule my needed surgery. Three months later a mediation settlement hearing was scheduled and he negotiated a fair settlement of my wages while leaving my medical claim open as I needed another surgery that was scheduled and upcoming. Throughout this time my calls and questions no matter how simple or complex, were always returned and answered promptly and completely until he was sure I understood all the details involved. I would highly recommend Ron to anyone who is in need of not only an attorney with knowledge but also a caring person who makes sure you will be treated fairly as a person who deserves the medical treatment you need and the compensation you deserve as an injured worker.”

“Before I met Ron, not only was I in pain, but I was always worrying about my case and whether or not people believed me. I felt alone. Then I met Ron. He came to my home for our first meeting. He said after looking at my medical records he wasn’t sure he was going to take my case. When we met, he could tell that I was sincere, and that I needed help! After the first few minutes speaking to him, I realized how knowledgeable he was and how helpful he could be. Over the next few months he was always there for me when I had questions or problems regarding my case. His expertise put my mind at ease. Ron treated me like a real person which was important to me. He sent me a book about workers’ compensation that he wrote, which also helped answer some of my questions. When I needed to go to mediations and hearings regarding my case, he came and picked me up at my home and took me to those places. Ron was able to get my case settled after only a few months. He obtained I higher workers comp settlement than I thought possible. As a result of my settlement, he was able to obtain educational training for me so that I could re-enter the work force in a different field. Ron took a reasonable fee regarding the settlement which is something I had been concerned about. It was nice knowing I wasn’t taken advantage of with regards to fees. Prior to finding Ron, I felt lost. Ron told me, “if and when I win I would feel a huge burden lifted off of me”. He couldn’t have stated it better. After Ron and I won my workers’ compensation case I was excited. Just knowing the process was done, and that I would soon begin my educational training helped me find my way again. I don’t know where I would be without Ron and his staff, but I am grateful to them for all of the help they provided.”

“I called Ron to ask a few questions about Work Comp and he answered all my questions to my liking. We talked about my case and what he told me in the beginning to do was just what I was thinking we should do. Later on we got together talked a little more and we discovered my Comp rate wasn’t what it was suppose to be so we petitioned the court for a review and we won. When it came time to settle the case he fought for me and got me a fair settlement offer and we settled in late September 2012. I would recommend Ron to anyone who needs a Work Comp Lawyer.”

Hi my name is Ron. I was 42 years old when I got hurt at work. I was married for 20 years. I had three kids, one in college and two in high school. I worked as an Overhead Crane Operator for three years, a conductor on the railroad for five years then got laid off. That’s when I started my career at Emery Air Freight which was bought out later by UPS. I had thirteen years in when I got hurt. I was off work for about three months with severe back pain. That’s when I decided to get an attorney. I had no clue who to call. I talked to a friend of mine and he gave me Ron Calhoon’s name. Little did I know it would be one of the best decisions I would make in my life. I had to get surgery on my back – “plates & screws.” After about two years with no success, I had to get another surgery. They had to take out the plates & screws and put in a BAK. The surgery went terribly wrong. They cut the main vein along my spine. I was in surgery for more than twelve hours. They never could finish the operation. I was damaged for life. I lost my job, wife, house, and pretty much all that I owned. I had my kids and Ron Calhoon! I got paid comp from June 1995 to August 2012 and then a lump sum settlement. Ron was with me for seventeen years. Not once in them seventeen years did he put pressure on me to settle. He helped me get Social Security disability. It was my decision to settle. I was 58 years old. He got me 17 years of comp and then $160,000.00. I also get covered for medical and prescriptions. Ron is not only a good friend but sincerely the best lawyer out there. Trust me he’s the best.
