“Before I met Ron, not only was I in pain, but I was always worrying about my case and whether or not people believed me. I felt alone. Then I met Ron. He came to my home for our first meeting. He said after looking at my medical records he wasn’t sure he was going to take my case. When we met, he could tell that I was sincere, and that I needed help! After the first few minutes speaking to him, I realized how knowledgeable he was and how helpful he could be. Over the next few months he was always there for me when I had questions or problems regarding my case. His expertise put my mind at ease. Ron treated me like a real person which was important to me. He sent me a book about workers’ compensation that he wrote, which also helped answer some of my questions. When I needed to go to mediations and hearings regarding my case, he came and picked me up at my home and took me to those places. Ron was able to get my case settled after only a few months. He obtained I higher workers comp settlement than I thought possible. As a result of my settlement, he was able to obtain educational training for me so that I could re-enter the work force in a different field. Ron took a reasonable fee regarding the settlement which is something I had been concerned about. It was nice knowing I wasn’t taken advantage of with regards to fees. Prior to finding Ron, I felt lost. Ron told me, “if and when I win I would feel a huge burden lifted off of me”. He couldn’t have stated it better. After Ron and I won my workers’ compensation case I was excited. Just knowing the process was done, and that I would soon begin my educational training helped me find my way again. I don’t know where I would be without Ron and his staff, but I am grateful to them for all of the help they provided.”

“I called Ron to ask a few questions about Work Comp and he answered all my questions to my liking. We talked about my case and what he told me in the beginning to do was just what I was thinking we should do. Later on we got together talked a little more and we discovered my Comp rate wasn’t what it was suppose to be so we petitioned the court for a review and we won. When it came time to settle the case he fought for me and got me a fair settlement offer and we settled in late September 2012. I would recommend Ron to anyone who needs a Work Comp Lawyer.”

Hi my name is Ron. I was 42 years old when I got hurt at work. I was married for 20 years. I had three kids, one in college and two in high school. I worked as an Overhead Crane Operator for three years, a conductor on the railroad for five years then got laid off. That’s when I started my career at Emery Air Freight which was bought out later by UPS. I had thirteen years in when I got hurt. I was off work for about three months with severe back pain. That’s when I decided to get an attorney. I had no clue who to call. I talked to a friend of mine and he gave me Ron Calhoon’s name. Little did I know it would be one of the best decisions I would make in my life. I had to get surgery on my back – “plates & screws.” After about two years with no success, I had to get another surgery. They had to take out the plates & screws and put in a BAK. The surgery went terribly wrong. They cut the main vein along my spine. I was in surgery for more than twelve hours. They never could finish the operation. I was damaged for life. I lost my job, wife, house, and pretty much all that I owned. I had my kids and Ron Calhoon! I got paid comp from June 1995 to August 2012 and then a lump sum settlement. Ron was with me for seventeen years. Not once in them seventeen years did he put pressure on me to settle. He helped me get Social Security disability. It was my decision to settle. I was 58 years old. He got me 17 years of comp and then $160,000.00. I also get covered for medical and prescriptions. Ron is not only a good friend but sincerely the best lawyer out there. Trust me he’s the best.

“When I needed a lawyer to proceed with my workers’ compensation case Ron was there to walk me thru the steps to keep the ins. co. at bay. He is very knowledgeable with the system and he worked with me on a reasonable settlement. He puts the client first and always looks out for the clients behalf. When at court he puts the client at ease and listens to our concerns and applies them for a win-win confrontation. I would always recommend this firm to any person who needs representation as the best route. Ron was very courteous and hard working and always returned my calls even after hours and that made me feel very assured he would get the job done right. Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C., is very family oriented and they all make you feel at ease and completely issue free after every phone call. Ron handled my case as a pro and I thank him for that. Thank you Ron.”

“Ron was awesome. Before my worker’s comp situation, I only needed a lawyer to close on my house (and that attorney was terrible). I had been fighting with my W.C. insurance for over 2 years when i finally broke down and started looking for someone to represent me. Ron Calhoon was highly recommended and impressed me, right off the bat. I explained to him that, at that time, I had no desire to sue my employer or their insurance, I wasn’t out for money, I just wanted fixed. I wanted my life back. Knowing my intentions, and that he would never get a dime from those intentions, he still spent hours and hours patiently explaining the process, my rights, their requirements, etc. He even contacted them when they refused to reimburse me for a $600 medical bill they were responsible for. within 2 weeks, I received the full $600 reimbursement!!! Ron refused to take even a penny of it. Almost a year later (many emails on my behalf, hours on the phone, filed legal papers, etc. all without asking for any payment), the insurance company approached me about settling. I was finally ready to just get the entire mess over with. I asked Ron to represent me (continue to, ha ha). My husband and I sat down with him. He explained our options, gave his recommendations, explained his fees etc. Only afterwards, did he bring out the contract and told us we could take as much time as we needed to make a final decision. By the time everything was over, he made me laugh when all I could do was cry, fought for me when I just couldn’t fight anymore for myself, made mediation a really fun and painless experience, and won us a settlement that was much more than we thought we could get including the continued medical treatment for the time period I refused to negotiate with. He was and is worth every penny. I would highly recommend him to anyone else. And, if you’re afraid of lawyers (like I was!!!!) , he’s your man. just call him and talk to him for a few minutes and you’ll know that he is out to help you and others. And isn’t just good at his job, he loves his job!”

“Tom has been our shoulder to lean on for many years. We are so thankful that he stood by us through it all. He helped us to understand what was going on behind the scenes. Without Tom explaining to us what to expect to happen or what not to expect to happen, we would have been lost. Even though it is a very serious matter going through the workers compensation court system, Tom has a way of making us laugh and to relax just a little bit. We felt very confident having Tom representing us. Seeing my husband go through all the ups and downs, I am very happy he had Tom by his side. Thank-you, Tom, for being our lawyer and friend.”

“You still get to talk to a human being. In today’s market of on hold waiting it’s nice to know there are still professionals like Ron Calhoon that answer their own phone. I called his office at 7:30 pm one evening and he answered the phone. We talked like he had known me a long time. He answered my questions and took time with me. The paralegal Anne was great. They show sincere concern for your situation and work quickly to resolve it. He even waived a portion of his attorney fee in the interest of my children. That ladies and gentleman is the kind of integrity that restores faith in the legal community. I could not be more pleased with my experience. Thank You Ron, Annie, AJ, and all the staff there who work behind the scenes to protect the rights of people like myself.”

“Seventeen years of excellent service. In November of 1995, while employed at Rite Aid distribution center, in Pennsylvania, I was severely injured because Rite Aid violated OSHA policies. After treatment at local hospital, and days into my recovery period, I was asked, “Who is your attorney?” I replied, ” I don’t have an attorney, I don’t need one, I am the injured party.” Well, let me tell you, that was not the case. Not only was I injured, with no income, Rite Aid and their insurance carrier tormented me, had private investigators watch my house, and made my life a “living hell.” Because I was a member of the Teamsters Union, it was suggested that I contact Ron Calhoon to “handle my case.” After walking into Ron Calhoon’s office, and relating the events of the accident that changed my life in so many negative ways, I never imagined that Ron and I would be “client/lawyer” for seventeen years!! Needless to say, during that time period, we developed a friendship. Ron and his staff have been available to assist me from day one, and never let me down, in anyway. Ron called me personally, even on weekends, and while he was traveling. He was “always there for me”. There are not enough kind words to express my gratitude for all that he has done to assist me with my Workers’ Comp. case, and also in my latest battle with the Social Security Administration to receive Disability coverage due to failing health related to the initial injuries. During these years, I have watched Ron open his own practice, watch his children grow, and recently had the privilege to be represented by an outstanding attorney from Ron’s firm. A tremendous “Thanks” to A.J. Palutis, for representing me via phone, in my recent court hearing concerning my appeal for Social Security Disability. These two amazing men, are not just lawyers, they are “lawyers with heart.” As far as honesty is concerned, I was completely overwhelmed when I received a check from Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C., indicating that I was entitled to a refund of $24.94, due to overpayment. Which proves that there are “honest lawyers” in the world!! “Thanks” to Susanne Calhoon. I still suffer with pain, and disability, but because of Calhoon and Kaminsky P.C., (Ron and A.J.) working diligently to obtain funding and medical care for me, my mental state is much better, and I can focus on my physical problems, and not worry about the legal matters. Ron made arrangements so that my medications are brought to my door via UPS. Injured Workers’ Pharmacy is a wonderful company, and they make it a lot easier for people like myself to receive prescriptions. I sincerely hope that no one ever has to go through the pain and suffering that I have because of a work related injury, but if you ever find yourself in need of an attorney, make sure you call Ron Calhoon. During these last seventeen years, I have moved several times, and yet Ron continued to represent me, he never once suggested that I seek “local representation” in the state in which I was living. I will be forever grateful to Ron. With great respect and admiration, a very satisfied client, and friend.”

“When you think you are alone, you are not when Ron Calhoon takes your case. I was injured on my job, and was sent to Workers Comp doctors. I was sent back to work too soon and caused more injury. I had surgery which caused nerve damage, and now I am not able to return to my job. Ron handles my case with respect for my rights, and when I sent an email, he responded within hours. I never had to wait. Ron also had phone conferences for me so I did not have to travel. I have never been to court for myself, and Ron made everything work very smooth for me. Ron is the “Super Attorney” in my book, and has won my case. We still have a little work to do, but I’m sure glad Ron is on my side. Ron asked the Judge to move up the briefing schedule so I could get a decision quicker and the Judge agreed noting that he has not had a request like that in years! I would have gone bankrupt if he had not won my case as quick as he did. He stopped me from accepting settlement offers while they were trying to starve me out. Don’t let Ron’s big heart fool you, he destroyed the company IME doctor on cross examination to win for me. I just told the truth and Ron took care of the rest. Thanks Ron.”

“Ron did a wonderful job with my case. He got me a great settlement of $240,000.00 for my injury. As well as all of medical that I needed not just what they wanted me to give me. I would and do recommend him for anyone that has a work-related injury. He will not only defend your rights he will make sure you get the medical treatment and settlement you deserve and need.”
